Manual:Creating a RIN
Every competitor that plans to register for competitions that use O2CM need to have a unique Registrant Identification Number (RIN).
Individual competitors
Both you and your partner need to have created RINs before you can register for heats at any O2CM competition. This process needs to be performed only once.
To register:
- Visit https://competitor.o2cm.com on your browser.
- Click on the REGISTER NOW button at the upper-right corner of the page. This will take you to the registration page.
- Fill your name, email and password information.
- If you have previously registered for an O2CM competition, use the same email address that you use on https://register.o2cm.com (i.e. your O2CM registration account) when filling out the email field.
- Note: If your partner, spouse, studio, or team captain typically handles your registration, you can enter their email in the Associated Account field.
- Clink on the link in the verification email sent to your email address.
After this process is complete, your 9-digit RIN will be listed in the table at the top of the page any time you log into https://competitor.o2cm.com.
Households
If multiple members of a household want to register for O2CM competitions, they can share a single competitor.o2cm.com login provided they share a last name. This is most helpful for married couple partners, as well as parents with youth dancers.
- Visit https://competitor.o2cm.com on your browser.
- If one of the members of your household already obtained a RIN, log into competitor.o2cm.com using their credentials.
- If no one in your household has created a RIN yet, follow the instructions for individual competitors to create one.
- Click on the "Add/Remove" tab located below the table with existing associated RINs.
- Enter the first name of your family member in the Add a new competitor to this account field.
- Click the Add Competitor button.
If a member of your household does not share your last name, they will need to create their RIN independently, but can list the spouse/partner's O2CM registration account email) in the Associated Account field. Doing so still allows the entire household to register for a competition at the same time.
School teams
If your school, college or university team intends to manage all registration tasks for your team members, the simplest way of doing so is by having your team members delegate access to their RINs when creating them.
- If your team has not previously registered for an O2CM competition, have your team captain go to https://register.o2cm.com, and fill out the New Account portion of the form before continuing further. This creates a O2CM registration account for your team.
- Have your members create an individual RIN for themselves, and have them enter the email address associated with your team's existing O2CM registration account in the Associated Account field when filling out the RIN form.
- Alternatively, you can create a pre-filled link for your members so they don't have to remember to type in anything into the Associated Account field. For example, if your team uses teamAccount@somemail.com when logging into https://register.o2cm.com, give your team members the following link:
http://competitor.o2cm.com/Account/Register?account=teamAccount@somemail.com
Just replace teamAccount@somemail.com with the email address your team uses to register for competitions.
Studios
The preferred approach is for dancers to enter the studio's O2CM registration account email in the Associated Account field when filling out the RIN form individually.
In scenarios where delegating RIN creation is not possible or is not preferred, studios can apply to create a studio account through https://my.o2cm.com/studio. Information about how to apply for your studio's account, as well as the procedure for creating RINs for your studio's dancers, is available on the myO2CM site.
